Across the country, people are protesting this artificial housing crisis, and everyone is doing so in their own way. Diverse in action and united in spirit, we will continue to campaign until we see the radical change we need!

SUPPORT WOONACTIE BY DONATING TO OUR GOFUNDME

Just like other housing protests, we too support the demands stated in woonmanifest. Listed below are our demands for Delft specifically.

  • STOP GENTRIFICATION

  • Focus on the current demographics of Delft and the housing shortages that are currently an issue in Delft. Make sure that the plans for nieuwe Delft are not only owner-occupied homes, but also social rent and student housing are given more space. Delft does not have to become more attractive for the outgrowth of Rotterdam and The Hague, but must be habitable for the people who now live there.

  • DON'T LET STUDENTS HANG

  • Make sure that everyone who comes to study here can also live here. Build enough (group) housing for students, not just studios, and communicate the housing problem more clearly to future (international) students. Start building more homes on campus. We also ask the university to take responsibility for the students they attract and make student housing a top priority.

  • PROTECT SOCIAL HOUSING

  • Freeze the rents and stop demolishing social housing as is now happening in the Bomenwijk.

  • IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY

  • Improve accessibility for people who are limited by today's society in finding suitable housing: end validism, racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, xenophobia and classism.
